Impounds

My car was impounded, how can I take it out?

 

If your vehicle was towed to our storage facility for storage or impounded, you may contact our office during regular business hours to get exact information. It is the responsibility of the registered owner to make sure there are not any fees or holds through the police department needed prior to release.

 

Office hours: Mon.-Fri. 8am-5pm (weekends by appointment only) and closed all Major Holidays

Accidents

I was in a accident, my insurance will pick up the vehicle. Do I need to provide anything?

 

Yes. You must fill out an authorization form releasing the vehicle to your insurance company. Form can be picked up at our office during normal business hours. Or forms can also be emailed to you, or press the button above, please send us an email requesting this form under contact us.

 

Please email or text us (619-208-4420 this number does not accept phone calls) the filled out form and a copy of the registered owner's picture I.D. and a copy of the registration.

Access to vehicles

What if I want to access or pick up my vehicle outside of business hours?

 

You must have the proper documentation to access or remove vehicle from storage. There is a after-hours fee that can range from $87.50-$100 that MUST be paid in advance to access vehicle. Appointment is required. Please call 619-427-7530 to set up an appointment afterhours or during the weekend.

 

What is needed?

Current registration of vehicle. Only the person on registration may access the vehicle with a picture I.D. No exceptions.

Pick up vehicle

What documents are needed to pick up my car from storage / impound?

 

Current, non-expired registration is needed to pick up.

(Note: CVPD REQUIRE a NIP fee to be paid at their offices prior to picking-up any vehicle.)

 

Only the person on registration may access the vehicle with a picture I.D. No exceptions.

 

What if the registered owner cannot be present to access or release vehicle?

 

An original notarized letter must be accompanied with all the other required documentation and a copy of their I.D.

What other documentation can I use if I don’t have current registration?

  • An incomplete application document from DMV dated within 30 days and MUST have a moving permit.

  • Title of vehicle showing plates are current on vehicle (Note:There is an expiration date located on your title)

 

What form of Identification is needed to pick up my vehicle?

  • Valid ID (restrictions may apply)

  • Official picture ID accompanied by someone with a valid driver’s license

  • Temporary Driver’s license with a picture I.D. (ex. passport, work badge) with pink sheet given by government agency
